NOTICE
At the May Executive Board
meeting it was decided that a formal Vehicle Safety Check list was needed. This list, which is now printed on the
reverse side of the Daily Vehicle Log, is designed to provide a guide for the first
driver of the day when inspecting the vehicle before beginning his/her tour. Please note
that the first driver is not always at 8:00am.
Therefore, I am directing
that the first driver of each day use this check list when inspecting the
vehicle, check off each item, note any discrepancies and sign the form. Of course, all subsequent drivers will
continue to do a vehicle walk-around when starting their tour, looking for any
body damage and making sure the tires are inflated.
As you know, our vehicle
is getting older, is starting to use oil and requires more frequent maintenance. For our
part, this means we must step up our efforts to ensure our vehicle remains safe
and road worthy since it is not likely to be replaced anytime soon.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
