Recently there has been an increase in crime countywide. Steps are being taken to curtail this situation, which includes the increased participation of Crime Watch patrols. We are asking that the first shift of the day call the shift supervisor for a briefing. After the briefing is obtained by the member, then patrols should be concentrated in the recommended areas. You should then pass along the information of the day to the next shift. If by chance there is no first shift (i.e. no morning patrol however you come in the afternoon), then you would be the one to call in to the shift supervisor.

The key to this is concentrating patrol in the areas that the shift supervisor provides. We still want you to conduct area patrols (residential and commercial) including house checks, however more time needs to be spent in the recommended areas within your zone.

Procedure:

1. First shift of the day calls in service and asks Citrus dispatch who the shift supervisor is. CP1, CP2, CP5, CP7, BH1, BH2, PR1, PR2, CS, IH would ask who the “East Supervisor” is. CP3, CP4, CP6, CP8, RH, SMW would ask who the “West Supervisor” is.
1. Based on what name you are given, you would call the person at the number listed below. Make sure you tell the shift supervisor what general area you patrol so they know what information to brief you on. This procedure is not designed to remove you from your zone. You only should be briefed on critical areas within your assigned zone.
